A workshop,
not a factory.

We are a small manufacturer of handcrafted furniture in Yogyakarta, Indonesia — building made-to-order pieces and full container loads for partners in twenty-six countries.

A Yogyakarta artisan at work in the Benedikto Art workshop

Rooted in
Yogyakarta.

Yogyakarta has been a centre of woodcarving and fine furniture for centuries. Benedikto Art began here in 2000 as a small workshop, and it is still a small workshop — only the work has grown.

We collaborate with artisans in surrounding villages, providing steady work and access to international buyers. Each piece that leaves the workshop is signed in the traditional sense: the people who made it are known to us, and most have been with us for over a decade.

We produce primarily to order, with a small ready-stock catalog for container fillers and urgent replenishment. Whether the order is a single bespoke piece or forty containers, the workshop runs the same way: by hand, in batches, with the work checked twice.

Three things
we will not
compromise on.

  1. 01

    The wood.

Every board we use is traceable to a government-registered plantation. We hold SVLK certification and ship every order with the corresponding Harvested Plantation Statement. If your customs broker asks where a board came from, the answer is in the envelope that arrived with the goods.

  2. 02

    The hands.

Every joint, every finish, every carved detail is done by a person. Machines cut accurately; carpenters, finishers, and detail specialists do the work that decides whether a piece ages gracefully or falls apart. We do not run a finishing line. We have finishers.

  3. 03

    The paperwork.

A wholesale order is not finished when it leaves the workshop. We treat the documentation — SVLK, fumigation, commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading — as part of the product. No follow-up emails three weeks after the container sails.

Production &
capacity.

Our facility is sized for boutique custom runs and high-volume wholesale at the same time. The same workshop produces both, with the same people, the same kiln, and the same quality control.

We host prospective partners at the workshop by appointment. A day on the floor tells you more about what you are buying than any spec sheet.
